WALKING ALONGSIDE YOUTH - AN ONLINE ANXIETY COURSE
Session 4 Nourishing Youth with Anxiety Through Relationship
NOURISH
youth with anxiety through relationship
This session is intended to help you recognize and meet the relational needs of youth as an effective way to address and reduce the symptoms of anxiety. It builds on Dr. Gordon Neufeld’s map of relational needs, covered in Session 2, while exploring traditional perspectives on meeting these needs that are culturally safe and trauma informed. The session is intended to encourage you to meet the basic relational needs of the young person in your care by satisfying their hunger for togetherness and connection, like feeding a hungry child.

On completing this session, you should be able to:
explore ways to nourish youth through relationship rituals that reduce alarm
identify culturally safe ways to nourish the unique relational needs of the youth in your care
