Children’s social and mental well-being begins to develop in the early years and is crucial for overall healthy development across the lifespan. Most mental disorders, including anxiety, begin in childhood and adolescence, with some beginning in the early years. Intervening early on in the lifespan, particularly within the first five years, has been proven to be ideal, as this is a sensitive period for brain development.
This online course provides B.C. early years professionals with practical and evidence-informed information and strategies to strengthen their capacity to support families with children ages 0–6 who are experiencing “everyday” (mild to moderate) anxiety.
