WALKING ALONGSIDE YOUTH - AN ONLINE ANXIETY COURSE
Session 7
Putting It All Into Practice
The final session of Walking Alongside Youth (WAY) brings all six sessions together for a review of your learning journey. Session 7 is meant to help you connect key teachings from each session and give you an opportunity to reflect on what you have learned. How has this journey—learning about alarm, relationship, Indigenous perspectives on well-being, and what it is that youth need to continue to thrive in the face of anxiety—been for you?
This session is a celebration of you and your relationship with the youth you are caring for, including your new perspectives on anxiety, and the relationship you have with the youth in your care and their family, community and cultural origins.
Learning Outcomes
On completing this session, you should be able to:
- reflect on insights gained from Sessions 1 through 6 and how you will apply them moving forward
- describe your level of confidence in knowing the youth in your care
- describe ways you can support the youth in your care relationally through honouring, nourishing, reducing and restoring
- describe what you have learned from Indigenous Elders and knowledge keepers in the course videos about how to care for youth

Congratulations!

You have arrived at the final session of WAY. This is a time to reflect, celebrate and look forward to the future. After spending time in each of these sessions, you likely have some new perspectives on anxiety and the important role you can play in providing youth with the conditions they need to thrive.
We want to acknowledge that this may have been an emotional journey. We have asked you to do a lot of personal reflection along the way, which sounds easier than it is. By taking the time to reflect, contemplate and consider new ways of thinking about and seeing not only symptoms of anxiety but also the relationship between you and the youth in your care, you are undertaking your own journey of change and transformation.
This course does not provide any easy answers or problem-solving strategies. Instead, it is about expanding your perspectives and insight while feeling supported, confident and hopeful as you walk alongside youth with anxiety.
